Kibo Island

Privacy Policy

Last updated 5 November 2026

Kibo Island is a walking and gardening game. To play, it reads how many steps you take. That number, and everything else about your game, stays on your iPhone.

The short version

Your steps

Motion & Fitness. With your permission, the game reads your iPhone's step count through Apple's Motion & Fitness. Each step you walk becomes a step for Kibo on the island's trails. It uses the steps you've walked today, and the totals from the days before to set a day goal that suits how much you usually walk.

Apple Health (optional). If you turn it on in the game's Settings, Kibo Island also reads the step count in Apple Health, so steps from a watch or tracker count too. It reads step counts only. It doesn't read anything else in Health and never writes to it.

Step data from Apple Health is used only to play the game. It is never shared, sold, used for advertising, or sent off your device.

You can turn either permission off at any time in the iPhone's Settings app, under Privacy & Security.

What stays on your iPhone

Your iPhone's own backups (iCloud or a computer) may include this data, as they do for any app. Apple handles those backups under its own privacy policy.

Deleting your data

To erase your game, open Settings in the game and tap Reset all progress twice. Deleting the app removes all of its data from your iPhone.

Children

Kibo Island collects no personal information from anyone, children included.

Changes and questions

If the game ever starts handling data differently, this page will change first, with a new date at the top.
